Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy describes how the Primeira Igreja Batista de Worcester ("PIB Worcester", "we") handles information on our website and in our PIB Worcester mobile app (iOS and Android).

2. What works without signing up

Reading the Bible, listening to sermons and the radio, checking the calendar and reading the community boards do not require an account. To keep your notes and progress anyway, the app creates an anonymous identifier, with no name and no email, tied to your device.

3. The PIB account (optional)

An account is only needed for the Bible Quiz (daily challenge, ranking and duels), to post on the community boards (Jobs, Businesses and Mutual Aid) and to confirm attendance without typing your name. To create one, we ask for:

• your email, to send the sign-in code (there is no password);
• a display name and, if you like, a symbol;
• confirmation that you are 13 or older.

If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google (when available), we receive from them your email, an account identifier and, if you allow it, your name, which becomes your display name. You can change the name later in Mais → Minha conta (More → My account).

4. What we collect

• Bible Quiz: your answers, points, day streak and ranking position; duel matches; your "playing now" presence, only if you turn it on; question suggestions and error reports.
• Community boards: job, business and help request or offer posts, with the contact details you choose to share; comments; reactions ("interested", "I recommend", "I can help", "praying"); reports; blocks; and your acceptance of the board rules.
• Forms: prayer requests (message and, if you like, name and contact); connection card and "I'm new here" (name, email and/or phone); event RSVPs (name, WhatsApp and party size); testimonies; content reports.
• Notes and progress: Bible notes, highlights and bookmarks, progress in reading plans and discipleship tracks, and radio likes are stored with your identifier (anonymous or account) so they are not lost.
• Phone notifications: if you allow notifications, we store the device's delivery address (Firebase Cloud Messaging token) and the choices you make on the Notifications screen.

We use this data to make each feature work, show the ranking, moderate the boards, send the notifications you chose and, for forms, for pastoral care and to organize church activities.

5. Data that stays on your device

The prayer journal, sermon notes (Service Mode), Bible training progress, the daily reminder and reading and sound preferences stay only on your device and are not sent to our servers.

6. What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or rent your data to third parties;
• We do not show ads or use advertising trackers;
• We do not build behavior profiles or track you across apps and websites.

7. What other people see in the app

• Your display name and symbol appear in the ranking, in duels and, if you turn it on, in the "playing now" presence.
• Posts and comments appear only after they are approved by church staff, with your display name. A post's contact details appear only after a tap and a warning, and the number of interested people is visible only to the author.
• Prayer requests and testimonies appear on the wall only after staff review and approval, and always with the visibility you chose when submitting.

8. Moderation and safety

Every post and every comment is reviewed by staff before it appears, and an automatic filter rejects links, requests for documents and upfront payments. Anyone can report a post or comment and block abusive users; blocking works both ways. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Content that breaks the rules is removed, and abusive accounts may be suspended.

9. Where data is stored and who helps us

Data is stored securely by providers that act as processors, following our instructions:

• Supabase: database and sign-in;
• Cloudflare: photos and audio;
• Vercel: staff dashboard and image delivery;
• Brevo: sending the sign-in code email;
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivering phone notifications;
• Apple and Google: sign-in, if you choose to use them;
• Agora: audio for the live service translation, when the feature is active (the app does not use your microphone or camera for it).

Videos play in the official YouTube player and some audio in the Spotify player, subject to Google's and Spotify's policies when you use them. Recent Instagram posts on the website are loaded through Meta's official API; opening a post takes you to Instagram, subject to that platform's policies.

10. How long we keep data

Account data is kept while the account exists. Job posts leave the board after 14 days and help requests or offers after 21; business posts stay until you close them. Notifications that cannot be delivered within 24 hours are discarded. Form information is kept for as long as needed for pastoral care, or until you ask us to remove it.

11. How to delete your account and data

In the app, open Mais → Minha conta → Excluir minha conta (More → My account → Delete my account). Deletion immediately erases your account, display name, Quiz results, posts, comments, reactions and blocks, notification preferences, registered devices and the notes stored with the account.

Without the app, you can ask us to delete your account and the data tied to it by writing to contato@pibworcester.com from the account's email address. We confirm the request and delete the account and that data.

You can also ask at any time for information submitted through forms (prayer request, connection card, RSVP, testimony) to be corrected or removed by writing to contato@pibworcester.com . We will respond within a reasonable time.

12. Children

The app's content is appropriate for the whole family, but creating an account, playing the ranked Quiz and posting on the boards are only for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if we learn that it happened, we delete it. Forms are intended for users 13 and older or for use with parental guidance.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the update date at the top.
